Asics Gel Kayano 19 Review – check the full review!

Theo explores the new Asics Kayano 19, Asics maximum feature stability shoe.

Bryan Benton says:

KAYANO 16 comfort is gone for good:
The Asics Kayano has been stripped down over the years. The Gel Cushion we learned to love in the Kayano 16 has been stripped to less than half. TRUTHFULLY, I would rather wear my worn Kayano 16’s, as I have returned several new Kayano pairs, as I search for a quality shoe as the Kayano 16. Hurricane? Trane12? I will find a superior quality shoe again.

Great review, man.

Shelley Ann Gottschling says:

I have been running in the Kayano 16’s for the last 3 years, mainly because when I’ve moved up to the 17’s and 18’s they killed my heels. I believe its a difference in the heel collar. Have you noted any changes between the 16’s and the newer models?
My issue now is the 16’s are getting difficult to find.
I was thinking of moving to the GT-2000’s. How do these models compare?
Thank you!

Would you recommend this over the under armor spine venoms?

is this shoes suitable for neutral pronator?

J. Clark says:

Do you recommend the 18 over the 19?

Hey Theo, I really like your reviews on the Kayano 19 & GT-2000. I have been using the Asics GT-2000 for a while but starting to feel like it doesn’t have the cushion like I’d expect. Would take the Asics Kayano 19 over the GT-2000 for cushion and support? I’ve been watching your videos on each of them for a while. I’ve used the the GT-2000 for 2 full marathons and training but almost wondering if I could use more cushioning so.

Jayson H says:

kayanos are always a stiff wide feeling shoe good for stability…they made it softer than it used to be but its like putting a pillow over a piece of wood

Linette Low says:

Thank you for an honest review! 🙂 What you said is true of the shoe ~ I’ve got the Kayano 19 women’s & they’re on par with my Nike Pegasus.. I prefer the Pegasus as an all-rounder (it excels on smooth terrains); whereas the Kayano performs well on harsher ground. The traction on the latter is excellent! Bring on the hills 😀
