So I have reviewed Skechers shoes in the past and was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed them. Howevr, the original GoRun Ultra wasn’t my favorite and had some interesting issues. This is Skechers follow-up specifically designed for the road (I actually thought the original was road-specific as well). Do I like the changes and new model? Well, yup. It’s pretty darn fun.
The massive amounts of cushioning are welcomed, especially with shoes like Hoka making me happy on the long runs. The Skechers GoRun Ultra Road has 30mm stack-height with a 4mm drop (30mm & 26mm, respectively). And all that midsole is soft, absorbant awesomeness. While the added cushioining does contribute to a bit sloppier ride on corners or uneven surfaces, in a straighter, non-technical line, these are awesome.
The midfoot M-Strike rocker is fun and enhances the forefoot feel, but the bulk, weight and upper heat become major issues the longer you run in the shoes.
Have you run in any of the Skechers shoes or more specifically, the GoRun Ultra Road? Let me know what you think in the comments below!

Nice, I was just rewatching some old reviews when I saw this pop up! 🙂
Perfect! Thanks for the review. I will definitely check these babies out as soon as they are available at my local store!
Nice review, enjoy it.
Do you have a chance to try Go run Ultra2?
How do you compare with this model?
Thank you,
These have been my shoe for the last two months. Two hot hot races, one 50 mile and 100K, both on road.
you should really try out and review the PUMA Mobium Elite there amazing
You’re right man, those are heavy shoes! And the M bump is bumpy! Not sure I like them compared to Ultra 1 that I still own!
I’ve been training in the Hoka Conquest for the last 250 miles, and it’s been awesome, but they are starting to show some major wear and holes. Should I get another pair of the Conquest or should I try the Go run ultra Road? I tried the Go run Ride 4 and I liked it but it only lasted like 100 miles.
no complaints about wear on the outer sole for this one ?
Grea t videos and i was wondering if you could tryout the new Under Armour such as the Speedform appolos or the Speedform Gemini.Thnx
Hahaha Fitknit 🙂
6pm.com hooked on the hokas but my first love was skechers will have to give them a try!
Dude how can you call yourself a huge supporter of ultra running and Not even mention the HARDEST ultra there is? The Badwater Ultra just took place.
I signed up for my first marathon a week ago, and am possible looking for a new shoe. I currently run in Brooks Ghost 6, and have 350K on them. Can you recommend anything? I live in Japan, so my choices are somewhat limited (no Hokas).
Why do I keep thinking of a flexible Bondi when I see this shoe?
Clifton or this one?
What are those
Really interested in getting into this one, something I would have never said about a Skechers running shoe two-three years ago. How’s fit in the toe box?
